Tonight I feel lonely, just me in the window and the moon in her sky.
I stare up to her, yearning for answers, to understand why.
Her silvery face flickers smiling her Chandra repose,
Solitude permeates cells, from crown to toes.
Silent inertia, hugging my own oblique sides,
Insomnia preparing, waves lullaby the tides.
Creatures of the night, we bloom in the dark
The owls call urgently and foxes fight as they bark.
My heart heavy with sadness, my limbs seem to sigh.
Making sense of the madness, I start to cry.
Naked & vulnerable I submerge skin in the bath,
Water warming flesh, I consider my path.
What is this yearning, this familiar feeling?
Remembered pain, old wounds knitting, spiritual healing.
The candles flicker, an orange glow,
How deeply submerged is it safe to go?
