Monochrome memento, still for now, yet eternally restless,
Boundless enthusiasm, iridescent softness, my king of kindness.
Resting lightly, hammock suspended over the dewy grass.
Like the three quills placed on top of your 70’s bureau glass.
You’re always close by me, wherever I choose to roam.
A supporting parental presence, akin to going home.
I feel terror that you float in space, achingly alone,
You smile back – you’re not lonely, you were never skin and bone.
Always black and white, charisma magnetising on the breeze,
Energetic leaps as you spiral through the trees.
Soul intact, you skip playfully, wishing strangers ‘how do?’
Finding infinite time in stillness to meditate on all that’s you.
Reminding, noticing, reassuring. blessing with a gentle sneeze,
Frost particles descend, settling earthbound, a carpeted white freeze.
An exchange between realms, subtle messages left in time.
“I’m here, that’s right, you’re doing well, continue with your rhyme”.
